Woman pleads guilty to running fraudulent online eBay scheme
A Charleston woman pled guilty to mail on Thursday. 39-year-old Ashley Turner Doyle admitted to conducting an internet auction fraud scheme on eBay selling knock-off jewelry as genuine and also sometimes failing to deliver any jewelry to paying customers between January 2006 and February 2009.
Twitter says it has more than 100 million active users -- a pretty impressive chunk of the online population who are, if nothing else, checking in to see what other people are sharing.
Agencies like the Federal Trade Commission have been trying to crack down on online product reviews that do not disclose the connection between a merchant and the person doling out the praise.
